Written by I was thinking that If the royal family spoke like normal people, wouldn’t it improve their public image because people would be able to relate to them.
For example, the Queen would sound good with a accent like Peggy Mitchell in Eastenders. Prince Charles would also sound good with a accent like Del Boy in Only Fools and horses.
What do you think of this? Should they learn to talk like normal people?

No you should strive to speak with an upper class cut glass accent .. . see professor Higgins in My Fair Lady ,, Lets push standards up … not pull them down
You learn to talk the same way as your parents talk. When you are born you just listen to the sound and when you begin to talk you talk like they do. So, it is very hard to change your speech pattern. Try talking in a lar-de-da manor all the time and then you’ll find just how hard it is to do.
I’m thinking that when they are amongst themselves at the palace, they speak with right and proper London accents.
The rest of the time they speak English.
I think they speak like normal people. It’s known as either the King’s english or the Queen’s english, so they’re all speaking their own English properly.
I was told by an English person to learn to speak the Queens english but honestly I’ve never heard the queen use the term ‘Ave it!’ which i think i prefer because if find it difficult to understand normal English people
If they didn’t talk better then us how would we know whose butt to kiss. Plus, they don’t have to do anything all day so Tuesdays is probably “sit in the mirror and practice being pretentious” Day.
They speak properly, everyone else speaks like sh*t!!

I don’t think what your saying is fair. It’s not their fault they have been brought up like that…There’s nothing they can do about it. Plus it wouldn’t be the same if everybody was the same this is where “variation” and “selection” comes into it.
